CLASS: Learn To Sew – Pillowcase – From beginners (learn how to use your sewing machine) to advanced (just come and have fun coordinating the beautiful fabric at the store and sew with your new best friends 🙂 we’ll start where you’re at and teach you three seam finishes while constructing pillowcases that are great for gifts, gift bags (h.s. graduates?) or for yourself!

Sewing with a Pattern

CLASS: Sewing With a Pattern – Learn how to read (decipher 🙂 a commercial or indie pattern, cut out and construct a garment. We recommend a simple skirt or pajama pant for starters-woven cotton is a great fabric to begin with. It takes a few patterns to gain confidence and experience so take this class as often as you’d like. You will most likely need a second class to complete a garment.

Class supply list: sewing machine, pattern, fabric-choose from store if you’d like, basic sewing supplies, any notions needed for pattern.

Serger I

CLASS: Serger I – Can’t thread your serger? Never taken it out of the box? We’ll take away your fear and help you make friends with an essential sewing tool. We will start where you need help-basic threading or rolled hem and flatlock. If you have a coverstitch machine, we’ll work on that too. Basic construction techniques while sewing a garment are also very helpful when using the serger. This class can be repeated as often as it takes to learn everything mentioned above and more!

CLASS: Sew Your Own – If you’ve sewn with a pattern and are ready to add new techniques (zippers, collars) and begin the journey to well-fit garment, this is your class. We can help you choose pattern and fabric if you email us or bring your supplies and we’ll get started. Please take care if measuring yourself and choose the correct pattern size.

Make curves easy with the QCR (Quick Curve Ruler) or with the QCR Mini. This ruler is all the rage! Patterns by Sew Kind of Wonderful are well JUST WONDERFUL! They are fun and contemporary! If you have tried curve piecing in the past and didn’t like it you will like this method. Users who have used other curving methods say this is the best method and won’t use old methods. You can choose any of the patterns from Sew Kind of Wonderful and you will need one of the rulers. Come in early to make your selection.

This will be a two day class. First class we will work on 3 different blocks. The next session we will work on 3 different blocks and review the other blocks. We will be using a pattern by Alison Glass called “Tessellation!” You may make a quilt any size you want, you could make a purse with your paper pieced blocks, you could make a wall hanging. This pattern is so trendy and modern. Skill level is beginning! Bring your machine and sewing supplies. Fabric kits with Alison Glass fabrics are available for purchase.

I saw this bag at Quilt Market this past fall and fell in LOVE with it! We will sew this bag together and work through the details. It says the pattern is for an Advanced Beginner but I read through all the steps and I KNOW WE CAN DO IT! Come in and select your fabrics. I do have the exact same fabrics for making this bag. You may want to pre quilt some of the fabrics.
